Experience
With over 20 years of experience in strength in conditioning Coach Mike brings a wealth of knowledge and hands on practical experience to Natty Hatty Camps. Coach Mike discovered a love for health and training age 16 and never looked back. After playing D1 baseball as a short stop at Long Beach he stayed on staff for three years as a strength and conditioning coach for the athletic program. He’s helped a variety of athletes reach their top potential in their respective sports, many of whom reached the highest possible levels or Major League Baseball and the Olympics. Once moving on from Long Beach Coach Mike started multiple CrossFit gyms (currently owns CrossFit Darkhorse in Sherman Oaks) and has coached a wide array of high level athletes looking to make is splash in the sports world.
The training I will provide to the California Heat players will be in the form of strength training, endurance training, balance, coordination and stamina. Strength training will translate to their on ice performance, stronger legs so they’re skating harder and they’re stronger in the corners, grinding for pucks. The balance and coordination will help them to stay on their feet when they are hit or bumped when they otherwise would be knocked off of the puck. The endurance and stamina to finish strong late in the game when their opponents are tired.
I want to instill confidence in young athletes, knowing that their hard work produces results that they get to take with them everywhere they go every day for the rest of their lives.
